This paper presents an original method of designing of seawater pumps selection taking into consideration the ship's power plant operations condition. Estimating of total pumps capacity takes into account the characteristic of total heat dissir: and predicting of distribution parameters of sea water temperature for selected rc Presented method gives possibility of sea water pump's selection accord] real cooling conditions. It allows to take some pump energy savings because ( use in all situations of the optimal seawater capacity in relation to the actual heal and sea water temperature in the ship power plant system. Results of this work allow to design the sea water system for newbuildin for modernization of existing ships.
