W artykule przeanalizowano eksploatacyjne potrzeby monitorowania sieci światłowodowych. Przedstawiono zasadność stosowania systemów automatycznego nadzoru włókien światłowodowych. Scharakteryzowano podstawowe funkcje i architekturę takich systemów. W końcowej części przestawiono korzyści, jakie wynikają z wdrożenia omawianych systemów nadzoru kabli światłowodowych.

The paper examines the exploitation needs to monitor the fiber optic networks. There are presented the merits of the application of automatic supervision of the optic fibers and characterized basic features and architecture of such a systems. In the final part are presented the benefits that arise from the implementation of these surveillance systems of the fiber optic cables.
