Recapitulation of silumins` crystallization assessment with use of the thermal-derivative analysis method

The results of the investigations concerning the control by means of the TDA method of Al-Si silumins’ crystallization as well as of the complex ones with single or multiple alloying additions from the elements Mg, Ni, Cu, Fe, Mn, Co, Cr, Mo and W are presented in the work. It has been proved that the intermetallic phases crystallizing with participation of those elements bring about particular thermal effects on the derivative curve. It has been pointed out that the operation of modification and that of refining provoke the changes of the derivative and cooling curves. The TDA method ensures the convenient control method of hypo-, hyper- and eutectic silumins.

W pracy przedstawiono wyniki badań metodą ATD kontroli krystalizacji siluminów Al – Si oraz wieloskładnikowych zawierających pojedynczo lub wspólnie Mg, Cu, Ni, Fe, Mn, Co, Cr, Mo i W. Wykazano, że tworzone przez te pierwiastki fazy międzymetaliczne powodują określone efekty cieplne na krzywej derywacyjnej. Stwierdzono, że zabiegi modyfikacji i rafinacji siluminów powodują również zmiany na krzywej stygnięcia i derywacyjnej. Metoda ATD zapewnia właściwą kontrolę krystalizacji siluminów pod-, nad- i eutektycznych.
