Metoda cyfrowego przetwarzania map papierowych do analizy zmian przebiegu i gęstości sieci drogowej
Aim of dissertation was analysis of changes in road network of Ziemia Chełmińska taking into consideration factors determining these changes and estimation of usefulness of methods of cartographic analysis and computer techniques for explanation of changes in roads network and attempt to compare road networks of researched are with theoretical models. Modern systems of transport networks emerge in historic process of development influenced by many factors, which changed in space and time. At the start of investigative period road network structure was conditioned by medieval towns structure. Course of roads linking medieval towns has remained without nearly any changes until today. This network was modernized to accommodate new traffic conditions. In 19th century changes of secondary roads was also determined by location of palaces and manors. Development of industry has established position of cities as communication junctions. At the start of investigation period length of road network was increasing. In the 30's of 20th century road ad length reached its maximum. Later this value start to decrease, but the length of roads wit hard surface was increasing. Carried researches proved that such principles as: 1. Division of roads on primary ones and less important; 2. Forming shortest connection; 3. Establishing new roads, parallel to old ones; on research are confirmed. Method of computers processing of maps proved to by useful. Analysis of changes in road network on researched area in historical context enable to estimate effects of new road investments.
