ELIMINÁCIA INFEKČNÝCH OCHORENÍ NA SLOVENSKU PO I. SVETOVEJ VOJNE
This study closely examines the development and elimination of infectious diseases in Slovakia following the end of World War I, highlighting epidemiological challenges caused by factors like malnutrition, poor hygiene conditions, and migration. The most serious diseases included smallpox, spotted typhus, typhoid fever, and trachoma. Significant progress in epidemic control was made through state epidemic motorcades, which performed disinfection, patient isolation, and vaccination campaigns. Healthcare measures in Slovakia contributed to the reduction of infectious diseases, despite limited resources and the need for international cooperation.
