O wiecznej prawdzie. (z myśli Karla Jaspersa)
Jaspers' understanding of philosophy refers to the concept of philosophia perennis. According to him, the history of philosophy has an eternal meaning, and the purpose of philosophizing is to present this eternal truth in the here and now. In his opinion, only philosophy contains one eternal truth, which is the transcendent truth of the absolute One. As such, this truth gives unity to the history of philosophy, and participation in it shapes the unity of the human being. The path to this one, eternal, absolute truth leads through communication with its many historical, relative, and changing forms, presented over the centuries of philosophical tradition. The original thought of Jaspers is to point to the existential dimension of this communication, which is not only intellectual, but also a deeply internal to the individual human existences participating in it. Such existential participation in the eternal truth taking place in the present creates, for a moment, the phenomenon of the "eternal present" and introduces the philosophising human to the spiritual community of the kingdom of philosophers.
