TOURISM AS A FACTOR STABILISING PRESERVATION OF ARCHITECTURAL MONUMENTS

One of the aspects of tourism study includes various functions of tourism in different domains of life. The subject matter of this article regards tourism functions in the field of cultural heritage, in particular, it concerns tourism influence on the protection of architectural monuments in the area of the Sudety Mountains and the Foothills. The author briefly presents the analysis of respondents’ opinions (residents of towns in the Sudety and tourists visiting the Sudety), and on this basis tries to determine the main tendencies of catalyzing through tourism positive results in the field of architectural monuments protection in the studied area.
