Model fungování Fachhochschulen v Rakousku

This article is concerned with the topic of a non-university type of Higher education institutions in Austria which is represented by the Fachhochschul-Sector (Higher vocational education). The term Fachhochschule is widely known in the Czech Republic but almost nobody dispose of further knowledge about it, about its basics, which participants are involved and which instruments are used to his successful shaping. The aim of this article is to introduce and to illuminate its model on which principle the Fachhochschul-Sector has worked in Austria to good effect for nearly fourteen years and to evalute its innovative gains and benefits for the Austrian Higher education system as a whole.
