Ferdydurke e i suoi ritorni: un’analisi delle edizioni italiane del romanzo attraverso i loro peritesti (con, a margine, la storia di un non ritorno)
Ferdydurke, the first work by Witold Gombrowicz translated into Italian, has been published in Italy in three translations at almost regular intervals of thirty years (1961, 1991, 2020). By investigating the peritextual elements of its Italian editions, this essay aims to discuss the different ways the novel has been delivered to the Italian readers. Furthermore, a selection of relevant archive documents – which should have accompanied the first edition of Ferdydurke in our country but have been left shelved as epitexts, without reaching the intended audience – will be examined.
