Co si mohou říci čeští a polští historikové? Úvahy o dějinách vztahu a prolínání
Reflections on promising, potentially innovative themes of Czech and Polish historiography in their mutual interpenetration and in a broader transregional context. The focus is on aspects of entangled history, asymmetry of thematic foci and their causes, and transfer. Against the background of the previous reflection on the one hand and the current development tendencies in historiography, related sciences, but partly also in society in general on the other, several open and “promising in terms of perspective” aspects of Czech-Polish historical research are reflected on in essay form. By the formulation of “promising in terms of perspective” aspects, the contribution comments those in which the blending of Czech and Polish historical (research, thematic) perspectives can result not only in valuable new knowledge, but above all in new understanding, interpretation and comprehension of historical themes and problems in the Czech, Polish, Czech-Polish, but also regional or European, transregional context. This applies to the history of both the so-called first and the so-called second-degree history (histoire au second degré), which concerns more the areas of historical culture and historical memory, including the politics of history. The text points to a strong need to go beyond the framework of still dominating history of „bilateral“ relations.
