Podstawą źródłową są wspomnienia absolwentów szkoły opublikowane głównie w Księdze Pamiątkowej Koła Płocczan oraz Korespondencja z Magistratem miasta Płocka dotycząca spraw porządkowych i uczniów Gimnazjum Męskiego. The article discusses selected aspects of daily life of students of the Governor’s Gymnasium in Płock in the second half of the 19th century.The source basis are the memories of the school’s graduates, published mainly in the Memorial Book of the Płock Citizens’ Association and the Correspondence with the Town Hall of Płock concerning order matters and students of the Male Gymnasium. The text does not fully exhaust the topic, because the fragments presented are part of a larger work that also deals with issues such as teaching methods and the school penalty system. The article aims to present the lives of students with an example of one school, in this case the Governor’s Gymnasium.
