Możliwości przywrócenia płodności suk i kotek z torbielami jajnikowymi
This article, aims at the presentation of chances to restore fertility in females of small animals affected by ovarian cysts. The most common ovarian disease in bitches and queens, appears to be cystic degeneration. This condition affects health and fertility of the female. Ovarian cysts may develop as solitary or multiple structures, and they may also be unilateral or bilateral. In bitches and queens that are not designed for breeding purposes, ovariohysterectomy is highly recommended, because of possible negative consequences of ovarian cysts on the endometrium and the estrogen-induced bone marrow toxicity. In younger females, without uterine pathologies,
some procedures of saving fertility potential may be instituted. Hormonal treatment proposed for follicular cysts is based on the attempt to luteinize these structures so they can regress subsequently, as a result of natural or pharmacologically intended luteolysis, and ovaries function may be maintained. If the pharmacological therapy is ineffective and in other clinical cases, surgical methods are recommended.
