The issue of marriage and family has become a lively topic in modern times, the subject of multifaceted reflection, analysis and controversy. Marriage and the family play a huge role in the life of every individual and are recognized as an element of their development and self-fulfillment. They should therefore be a source of mutual love, security, respect and solidarity. Nowadays, however, many social phenomena can be observed that negatively affect the emotional bonds between members of these smallest social units. A growing body of literature on these issues is raising awareness of the importance of the role of women, wives and mothers. The world of modern women is changing rapidly and dynamically. Today, the role has undergone significant changes from the traditional pattern for years ascribed to the wife and mother. The authors of the article were interested in what role marriage and family play in the lives of contemporary women. The aim is to gain as comprehensive knowledge as possible about contemporary women’s views on marriage and family.

Problematyka małżeństwa i rodziny stała się współcześnie żywym tematem, przedmiotem wieloaspektowych rozważań, analiz i kontrowersji. Małżeństwo i rodzina odgrywają ogromną rolę w życiu każdej jednostki i są uznawane za element jej rozwoju oraz samorealizacji. Powinny być więc źródłem wzajemnej miłości, poczucia bezpieczeństwa, szacunku i solidarności. Współcześnie można jednak zauważyć wiele zjawisk społecznych, które negatywnie wpływają na więzi emocjonalne między członkami tych najmniejszych komórek społecznych. Coraz bogatsze piśmiennictwo poświęcone tym zagadnieniom uświadamia, jak ważna jest rola kobiety, żony i matki. Świat współczesnych kobiet zmienia się szybko i dynamicznie. W chwili obecnej rola ta uległa istotnym przemianom w stosunku do tradycyjnego wzorca przez lata przypisywanego żonie i matce. Autorów artykułu zainteresowało, jaką rolę pełni małżeństwo i rodzina w życiu współczesnych kobiet. Celem jest uzyskanie możliwie kompleksowej wiedzy na temat poglądów współczesnych kobiet na małżeństwo i rodzinę.
