Poniższy artykuł dotyczy kwestii użycia instrumentów prawnoporównawczych w prawie karnym. Autor podejmuje próbę przedstawienia metodologicznych i praktycznych aspektów procesu prawnoporównawczego poprzez odniesienie do najpopularniejszych modeli procesu porównawczego, jak również prezentuje wstępnie różnice pomiędzy systemami karnymi Polski, Ukrainy oraz Rosji. Analizie poddane zostają podstawowe zagadnienia badanych systemów: różnice pomiędzy strukturą kodeksów karnych, systemem kar itd. Opracowanie może być wstępem do dalszych badań prawnoporównawczych w zakresie prawa karnego Polski, Ukrainy oraz Rosji.

The following article scrutinizes the topic of comparative studies in the field of crim- inal law. It attempts to depict both methodological and practical aspects of the legal comparison. The author presents the most popular models of the comparison process and the basic use of legal comparison between Polish, Ukrainian, and Russian criminal law systems. He also analyzes the basic differences in the mentioned systems: the differences in the structure of criminal law acts, their history, systems of punishments etc. Above-mentioned data could be a good start for further com-parative law studies in the area of criminal law of Poland, Ukraine, and Russia.
