How am I supposed to know that? - problems of parents of children with disabilities in obtaining comprehensible information

Artykuł przedstawia refleksje na temat problemów rodziców dzieci z niepełnosprawnościami z uzyskaniem zrozumiałych dla nich informacji dotyczących: niepełnosprawności, terapii najlepszych dla danego rodzaju niepełnosprawności, orzeczeń, które można uzyskać w związku z niepełnosprawnością, a także wynikających z nich udogodnień dla dziecka w szkole oraz innych uprawnień. W tekście zostały zaprezentowane wyniki wywiadów prowadzonych z rodzicami dzieci z zespołem Aspergera, które pozwoliły odpowiedzieć na pytanie: dlaczego dla rodziców brak dostępu do informacji jest tak istotnym problemem, a także: jak to jest możliwe, że rodzicom brakuje tych informacji w XXI wieku – w świecie nieograniczonego dostępu do internetu.

The article addresses the problems of parents of children with disabilities in obtaining comprehensible information on: disabilities, optimal methods of treatment for a given type of disability, medical certificates of disabilities that can be issued in a given case, as well as the resulting benefits and rights for disabled children at school. The paper presents the results of interviews with parents of children with Asperger's Syndrome, which helped to explain why the lack of access to information is such a significant problem for parents, as well as how it is possible that this problem is still prevalent in the 21st century - in the world of unlimited internet access.
