Praca porusza problem społeczeństwa informacyjnego. Składa się z trzech rozdziałów. W pierwszym rozdziale omówiono wybrane definicje, pochodzenie pojęcia oraz właściwości społeczeństwa informacyjnego. Rozdział drugi skupia uwagę na koncepcjach czołowych badaczy i teoretyków społeczeństwa informacyjnego. Rozdział trzeci dotyczy sposobów realizacji idei społeczeństwa informacyjnego, a dokładniej inicjatyw, programów oraz projektów opracowanych przez Stany Zjednoczone, Polskę oraz inne kraje Europy.

The following thesis raises the problem information society. It consists of three chapters. In the first chapter discusses the main definitions, history of the concept and properties of the information society. The second chapter focuses on the concepts of leading researchers and theorists of the information society. The third chapter concerns ways to implement the idea of an information society, initiatives, programs, and projects developed by the United States, Poland andother European countries.
