Drag - Camp - Gender. Analiza Kulturowa na wybranych przykładach

The paper describes the phenomenon of drag queen in terms of gender performativity, camp and carnivalesque. The author proposes a broad look at figure of drag queen and analyzes the relationships between the phenomenon of drag and popular culture, queer theory and aesthetics. The main aim of this work is to illustrate being of drag queen as an act of self-creation, redefining the values of dominant culture.

Praca stanowi analizę zjawiska drag queen pod kątem kategorii takich jak performatywność gender, camp i karnawalizacja. Autorka proponuje szerokie spojrzenie na figurę drag queen i przedstawia związki zachodzące między zjawiskiem drag a kulturą popularną, teorią queer i estetyką. Celem pracy jest ukazanie bycie drag queen jako akt autokreacji, redefiniujący wartości kultury dominującej.
