The Micro CDS / ISIS package and its role of package in the process of computerization in the libraries in the city of Cracow

This paper describes the process of computerization of Polish libraries and with special interest in the libraries in the city of Cracow. It also describes the most popular programs used for the computerization of libraries. It includes a general characterization of Micro CDS / ISIS package and descriptions of the most commonly used version. Special attention is given to the role of the Micro CDS / ISIS package in the process of computerization in the libraries in Cracow. The paper examines the available sources of information on the subject of libraries’ databases created with the use of this package.

W pracy tej opisany został proces komputeryzacji polskich bibliotek , w szczególności na terenie miasta Krakowa. Opisano również najpopularniejsze programy wykorzystywane do komputeryzacji bibliotek. Zawiera ogólną charakterystykę pakietu Mikro CDS/ISIS oraz opisy najczęściej stosowanych wersji. Szczególną uwagę zwrócono na rolę pakietu Mikro CDS/ISIS w trakcie komputeryzacji bibliotek na terenie miasta Karkowa. W pracy przeanalizowano dostępne źródła informacji zawierające dane na temat baz danych stworzonych za pomocą tego pakietu oraz przeanalizowano ankiety wypełnione przez pracowników bibliotek w których wykorzystywano ten pakiet programów.
