The vision of Paradise and Hell in the Quran and the Bible.

Work introduces visions of heaven and hell in Islam and Christianity based only on the books of revelation of these two great monotheistic religions. In the case of Islam as the source material also served six major sunni collections of hadith (mainly al-Bukhari and Muslim). The aim of this study was to present descriptions of the afterlife truncated accretions of centuries-old folk beliefs dictated, and literary and iconographic tradition.Work focuses on the physical description of paradise and hell. The following sections are described: location, gates / walls, buildings, rivers / sea, vegetation, animals, food, drinks, people look, their clothes, objects and actions: the pleasures of paradise and the torments of hell.

Praca przestawia wizje raju i piekła w islamie oraz chrześcijaństwie bazując jedynie na księgach objawionych tych dwóch wielkich religii monoteistycznych. W przypadku islamu za materiał źródłowy posłużyły również autorytatywne zbiory sunny (przede wszystkim Al-Buhariego oraz Muslima). Celem pracy było zaprezentowanie opisów zaświatów okrojonych z wielowiekowych naleciałości podyktowanych wierzeniami ludowymi oraz tradycją literacką i ikonograficzną. Praca skupia się na fizycznym opisie raju i piekła. W kolejnych punktach opisywane są: lokalizacja, bramy/mury, budowle, rzeki/morza, roślinność, zwierzęta, pożywienie, napoje, wygląd mieszkańców, ich ubiór, przedmioty a także czynności: rozkosze w raju oraz męki w piekle.
