Atopic Dermatitis (AD) may be associated with immunoglobulin E (IgE) such as acute allergic reaction to foods, asthma, urticaria. AD is hereditary and may affect an entire family. It usually affects infants and young children but it can occur at any age. Living with this disease is uncomfortable, painful, embarrassing and can be expensive. It changes the entire family’s lifestyle. Child with atopic dermatitis should be treated by a group a specialist who can help managing this disease. A nurse is part of a specialized medical group who can help managing this disease. Nurse’s knowledge of treatments can help minimize the effects of this disease on a patient. She will help minimize the symptoms of AD and prevention from further exacerbation by teaching the patient the proper methods of management.
