The silence of Meshulah - An-skis "The Dybbuk" and selected adaptations

This thesis is a comparative analysis of silence theme in the drama "The Dybbuk" by An-ski, and some adaptations: the film "The Dybbuk" directed by Michael Waszyński (1937) and Krzysztof Warlikowski's play of the same title (2003).Text focuses on a messenger called Meshulah. In addition to the comparison of individual scenes, the author presents a brief state of research of the observed phenomenon - silence. The aim of this study was to draw attention to the role of the silence in literature, theater and film.

Niniejsza praca licencjacka jest analizą porównawczą motywu milczenia w dramacie "Dybuk" An-skiego i w wybranych adaptacjach: filmie "Dybuk" Michała Waszyńskiego (1937) i spektaklu Krzysztofa Warlikowskiego o tym samym tytule (2003). W pracy omówiono powyższe zagadnienie głównie na przykładzie postaci posłańca Meszulacha. Oprócz porównania poszczególnych scen, autorka przedstawia krótki stan badań dotyczący obserwowanego zjawiska - milczenia. Celem pracy było zwrócenie uwagi na rolę, jaką pełni milczenie w literaturze, teatrze i filmie.
