The Creator of the Scenic Background in Częstochowa

Praca pt. "Budowniczy tła scenicznego w Częstochowie" jest analizą scenograficzno-inscenizacyjnego aspektu częstochowskiej dyrekcji Iwo Galla w kontekście jego tekstu teoretycznego "Budowniczy tła scenicznego". Pierwszy rozdział opisuje biografię Galla do momentu objęcia jego dyrekcji w Częstochowie.Drugi rozdział jest interpretacją pracy teoretycznej, ponieważ stała się ona deklaracją programową Galla przed przystąpieniem do działań na nowej posadzie. W rozdziale trzecim kolejne podrozdziały zawierają: opis przestrzeni Miejskiego Teatru Kameralnego, gdzie Gall pełnił funkcję dyrektora w latach 1932-35, następnie analizę kształtu scenograficznego częstochowskich przedstawień Galla oraz opis wybitnych spektakli, które są przykładami na to, że Iwo Gall konsekwentnie realizował swoje myśli teoretyczne w praktyce.

The thesis titled “The Creator of the Scenic Background in Częstochowa” is the analysis of the scenic and staging aspect of Iwo Gall’s management of Częstochowa Theatre in the context of his theoretical work “The Creator of the Scenic Background”. The first chapter presents Gall’s biography since the moment he was appointed the managing director in Częstochowa.The next chapter is the interpretation of his theoretical work, as it became Gall’s manifesto before he took action in his new workplace.In the third chapter the successive subsections contain the following topics: the description of the space in the Municipal Small-audience Theatre where Gall was the director in the years 1932-1935, the analysis of scenic form of the plays staged in Częstochowa, and finally the description of the outstanding performances which exemplify the fact that Gall consistently put his ideas into practice.
