Celem pracy jest wznowienie Kamieni na szaniec Aleksandra Kamińskiego w formie najbardziej zbliżonej do wydania wojennego, aby ukazać jak wiele zmian zaszło w treści tej książki od pierwodruku, aż do ostatniej edycji za życia autora. Uwzględniono Zmiany, które wynikają zarówno z ingerencji samego autora, jak i uzupełnień, skreśleń i zmian cenzorskich w okresie powojennym. Wydanie zostało zaopatrzone we Wstęp historyczno-literacki, Zestawienie wariantów zapisu występujących w poszczególnych edycjach, Objaśnienia pojęć i postaci niezbędnych do właściwego odbioru dzieła oraz, umiejscowioną na końcu publikacji, listę wyrazów, których zapis w podstawie wydania był błędny, a które w tym wydaniu występują już w poprawnej formie. W przypisach do tekstu głównego znajdują się informacje dotyczące ważniejszych zmian wprowadzonych przez autora w czasie od 1944 do 1978 roku, ewentualnie odsyłacze do całej treści tych zmian zawartej w wyżej wspomnianym Zestawieniu wariantów zapisu.

The aim of this work is to reissue the edition of Stones for the Rampart by Aleksander Kamiński in a way that would be the most similar to the edition published during 2nd World War. It should present the changes in the content of this book from the first printing to the last edition published in the course of Kaminski’s life. There author of this work has taken also into consideration the changes that made Kamiński as well as the supplements, deletes and censorships made in the post-war period.This edition is provided in the historical and literary introduction, the combination of record’s options in every edition, the explanation of definitions and characters inessential for the proper perception of this book. There is also the list of words, which were incorrect in the first edition and which have been corrected in this edition.In the footnotes to the main text are covered the information about the most important changes made by Kamiński from 1944 to 1978 and the references to the whole essence of those changes covered in the abovementioned the combination of record’s options.
