Painting inspirations in Zbigniew Herbert’s poems as a realisation of the concept of the correspondence of arts

The main focus of this work is on the issue of mutual inspirations between literature and painting, and on the correspondence of arts. In this work, selected paintings were juxtaposed with Zbigniew Herber’s poems. On the basis of the current research methods, the works were compared and analysed. The work discussed the issue of interpreting poems in relation to paintings, and the other way round. Separate chapters were devoted to theoretical approaches to literary interpretations, to Zbigniew Herbert and his artistic output, to selected poems and paintings, and to the introduction of this topic in a classroom.

Praca poświęcona jest zagadnieniu obecności wzajemnych inspiracji między literaturą i malarstwem oraz korespondencji sztuk. Wybrane dzieła malarskie zostały w niej zestawione z utworami poetyckimi Zbigniewa Herberta. Na podstawie dostępnych metod badawczych dzieła zostały porównane i opisane. Praca przybliża kwestię możliwości interpretacji tekstów w relacji do obrazów i odwrotnie. Poszczególne rozdziały poświęcone są teoretyczno-literackim sposobom interpretacji, osobie i twórczości Zbigniewa Herberta, konkretnym utworom i obrazom oraz możliwościom realizacji tego tematu na lekcjach języka polskiego w szkole.
