Defensive function of indirect speech acts

The topic of this discussion is the defensive function of indirect speech acts. The first part of the reader will be able to look at the theories of speech acts by John Austin and John Searle, which are the source of the creation of indirect speech acts. Then the concept was described illocutionary force, which is closely related to the topic of the study. In the following section are ways of interpreting indirect speech acts by means of the theory of conversational implicatures Paul Grice and John Searle's approach. The next part described the theory of politeness Penelope Brown and Stephen Levinson and research on indirect speech acts that were inspired to conduct my experiment cited in the second part of the study.

W pierwszej części pracy czytelnik będzie mógł zapoznać się z teoriami aktów mowy autorstwa Johna Austina i Johna Searle’a, które są źródłem powstania pośrednich aktów mowy.
