Niniejsza praca składa się z 3 rozdziałów. Jej celem jest odpowiedź na pytanie, czy wybrane utwory reprezentujące słowacki horror są niezależnym gatunkiem w realiach kultury słowackiej oraz czy posiadają znamiona wyjątkowości względem literatury światowej. Aby w pełni zrozumieć charakter zjawiska należy przyjrzeć się genezie współczesnego horroru słowackiego oraz przedstawić czołowych twórców, teoretyków i słowacki fandom, czyli środowisko fanów tego zjawiska.

The thesis consists of three chapters. The purpose is to answer whether the selected horror stories represent an independent genre in Slovak culture and literature and if there are features of the uniqueness. To fully understand the nature of that phenomenon, the genesis of the modern horror genre, leading artists, theorists and the environment of the fans are analysed.
