Television intervention from the point of view of ‘The Case for a reporter’ and ‘Intervention’. Discourse Analysis of two television programs.

This master’s thesis is devoted to the issue of television intervention. This phenomenon consists in the fact that the other state institutions (such as courts, prosecutors, health care) fail, people struggling with serious problems seek help from television. However, you need to remember, that the TV takes place some mechanisms that are designed to attract the largest possible audience for as long as possible. Therefore, the theory of mass communication is the basis of the theoretical analysis. In this study, a television intervention is considered from the point of view of two programs: ‘The case for the reporter’ (TVP1) and ‘Intervention’ (Polsat). Discursive approach allowed for a broader look at the problem and ensured capture the dynamic aspect of the phenomenon.

Niniejsza praca magisterska poświęcona jest zagadnieniu teleinterwencjonizmu. Zjawisko to polega na tym, że gdy inne instytucje państwowe (takie, jak: sądy, prokuratura, służba zdrowia) zawodzą, ludzie zmagający się z poważnymi problemami zwracają się o pomoc do telewizji. Należy pamiętać jednak, że w telewizji mają miejsce pewne mechanizmy, które mają na celu przyciągnąć jak największą widownię na jak najdłuższy czas. Dlatego też teoria komunikowania masowego stanowi podstawę teoretyczną tej analizy. W niniejszym opracowaniu telewizyjny interwencjonizm rozpatrywany jest z punktu widzenia dwóch programów: "Sprawa dla reportera" (TVP1) oraz "Interwencja" (Polsat). Podejście dyskursywne pozwoliło na szersze spojrzenie na problem i zapewniło uchwycenie dynamicznego aspektu tego zjawiska.
