Asymilacja muzułmańskich imigrantów na Malcie

Moje praca licencjacka podejmuje temat coraz bardziej wzbudzający zainteresowanie, zwłaszcza wśród mieszkańców Europy. Przedstawiłam w niej proces przystosowania się imigrantów muzułmańskich do nowego otoczenia, jakim jest kontynent europejski. Na przykładzie Malty, omówiłam przeszkody i trudności, jakie napotkali imigranci i wyeksponowałam, co odgrywa istotną i ważną rolę w procesie ich asymilacji. Ponadto przybliżyłam wizerunek muzułmanina w Europie, a w tym– stereotypy i ich konsekwencje, czyli to jak ludzie postrzegają cudzoziemców z Bliskiego Wschodu oraz jaką mają wiedzę na temat ich kultury, religii i obyczajów.

My research uncovered the origin of the main social issue in Europe today: the assimilation process of Muslim in Europe. On example of Malta, I presented different aspects of migration of Africans and Arabs to this island and their struggles to be accepted as citizens of Malta while still embracing their heritage and religion. I showed evidence of these problems with many examples in Maltese press, media and worldwide literature. I also exposed the obstacles and difficulties encountered, which play a vital role in the process of assimilation. Moreover, I presented closer the image of Muslims in Europe- stereotypes and their consequences, that is how people perceive foreigners from the Middle East.
