Aspekty ideowe i estetyczne musicalu na przykładzie The Rocky Horror Picture Show

Thesis is about ideological and aesthetic aspects of musical on the example of The Rocky Horror Picture Show. To introduce the concept of the musical, was also presented its origin from the eighteenth century to the 70s of the twentieth century. Most of the thesis describes film version of this musical and for this reason there is a short chapter about film musicals. Thesis describes theme of the camp and kitsch as the two main determinants of aesthetic. Approximates a history of mass performances from the eighteenth century to the present day, which influenced the development of of pop culture. Despite that thesis includes references to specific examples of popular culture which described musical contains. Discussed was the issue of the influence of German Expressionism at The Rocky Horror Picture Show. An important aspect is the description of Polish production of this musical, its global implementation and their impact on the cult of The Rocky Horror Picture Show. In order to check whether the camp phenomenon is commonly understood among the public, and whether it is able to distinguish it from the kitsch, the survey was conducted.

Praca traktuje o aspektach ideowych i estetycznych gatunku jakim jest musical, opierając się na przykładzie The Rocky Horror Picture Show. Aby przybliżyć pojęcie musicalu, przytoczona została również jego geneza od wieku XVIII po lata 70. XX wieku. W większości pracy opisywana jest filmowa wersja tego musicalu, z tego powodu pojawia się krótki rozdział dotyczący musicalu filmowego. Praca porusza temat kampu oraz kiczu jako dwóch podstawowych wyznaczników estetycznych. Przybliża też historię widowisk masowych od wieku XVIII po współczesność, które miały wpływ na rozwój popkultury. Oprócz tego, w pracy zostały zamieszczone odniesienia do konkretnych przykładów kultury popularnej, zawartych w opisywanym musicalu. Poruszona została kwestia wpływu niemieckiego ekspresjonizmu na The Rocky Horror Picture Show.
