The evolution of the legal status of foreigners in the Republic of Poland between 1918-2014

Niniejsza praca przedstawia ewolucję statusu prawnego cudzoziemców w latach 1918-2014 w Polsce. Szczególny nacisk położony został na normy prawne regulujące kwestie wjazdu, pobytu oraz wyjazdu (wydalenia) cudzoziemców zawarte przede wszystkim w dotychczas obowiązujących w Polsce ustawach o cudzoziemcach, prawie międzynarodowym oraz w prawie Unii Europejskiej. Praca zawiera kompleksową analizę procesu zmian najważniejszych przepisów ustanawiających status prawny cudzoziemców przebywających na terytorium Polski na tle przemian i wydarzeń historycznych.

This paper presents the evolution of the legal status of foreigners in Poland during the period between 1918 and 2014. The main emphasis was placed on the legal standards of the entry, stay and departure of foreigners in the Polish law on foreigners, international law and European Union law. The paper contains a comprehensive analysis of the process of change of the key legislation establishing the legal status of foreigners residing in Poland.
