Problems of the labor market and employment policy in the European Union

Zasadniczym problemem podejmowanym w niniejszej pracy magisterskiej są problemy jakie występują na rynku pracy oraz w polityce zatrudnienia w Unii Europejskiej. Analiza ww. zagadnienia rozpoczęła się od scharakteryzowania teoretycznych aspektów rynku pracy. Następnie skupiono się na tematyce polityki zatrudnienia w Unii Europejskiej, jak się kształtowała, jakie przeprowadza się programy w ramach tej polityki oraz z jakimi efektami i w jaki sposób konkretne państwa radzą sobie z bezrobociem. Kolejnym tematem podejmowanym w pracy jest jednolity rynek, a dokładnie jak przedstawia się swoboda osób, za pomocą jakich służb Unia Europejska pomaga poszukującym pracy i w jaki sposób walczy z dyskryminacją, po czym następuje przejście do stanu i możliwości zatrudnienia w Unii Europejskiej. W tej części można się dowiedzieć o najważniejszych aspektach wewnętrznego rynku pracy, bezrobociu i możliwościach zatrudnienia. Studium przypadku przedstawia sytuację polskiego rynku pracy i polityki zatrudnienia po akcesji do Unii Europejskiej.

The main problem undertaken in this master’s thesis are problems which exist in the labor market and employment policy in the European Union. Analysis of the above issues began with theoretical aspects characteristic for the labor market. Then the focus was on the theme of employment policy in European Union, how it developed, what programs are carried out within the framework of this policy, with what effects and how specific countries deal with unemployment. Another topic is the work undertaken in the single market and how exactly the free movement of people looks like, what are the European Union services which help unemployed and by what means does it fight against discrimination. After that there is a transition to the topic of state and employment opportunities in the European Union. In this section you can learn about the most important aspects of the internal labor market, unemployment, and employment opportunities. The case study shows the situation of the Polish labor market and employment policies after accession to the European Union.
