Reforming the International Monetary Fund

The aim of this study was to present the International Monetary Fund areas that require reforms and describe the proposed changes. The first chapter is devoted to the characteristics of the International Monetary Fund, its genesis and main objectives. In the second chapter it is presented the Fund activity during crises in South America and Southeast Asia as well as during the recent financial crisis. The third chapter is devoted to analysis of malfunctions in the operations of the International Monetary Fund and the proposals of changes in that institution.

Celem niniejszej pracy było przedstawienie obszarów Międzynarodowego Funduszu Walutowego, które wymagają reform oraz opisanie proponowanych zmian. Pierwszy rozdział został poświęcony charakterystyce Międzynarodowego Funduszu Walutowego, jego genezie i głównym celom działalności. W drugim rozdziale zaprezentowano działania Funduszu podczas kryzysów w Ameryce Południowej i Azji Południowo-Wschodniej oraz w czasie ostatniego kryzysu finansowego. Rozdział trzeci został poświęcony analizie niesprawności w działaniu Międzynarodowego Funduszu Walutowego i propozycjom zmian w tej instytucji.
