The loneliness of the old peoples home and nurisng home

The dissertation is mainly on older people who, for various reasons, living in a old people's home or residential home. The main objective of the dissertation was to verify how older people are functioning in these homes, and how they feel lonely and alienated from society. The study also to raise a question of total institutions in terms of Erving Goffman, which inter alia include nursing homes. Surveys were conducted in old people's home and residential home in Krakowbut also the surrounding area. The study involved hundred respondents including woman and men.

Praca licencjacka jest głównie na temat osób starszych, które z różnych przyczyn zamieszkały w domu spokojnej starości lub domu opieki społecznej. Głównym celem badania było sprawdzenie jak osoby starsze funkcjonują w owych domach, oraz jak bardzo czują się samotne, oraz wyalienowane ze społeczeństwa. W pracy również poruszona zostaje kwestia instytucji totalnych w ujęciu Ervinga Goffmana, do których m.in zaliczają się domy opieki. Ankiety zostały przeprowadzone w domach spokojnej starości oraz domach pomocy społecznej na terenie Krakowa, ale i również okolic. W badaniu wzięło udział 100 respondentów, w tym kobiety oraz mężczyźni.
