Selected incarnations of commemoration in the Gdańsk shipyard.

Praca stanowi prezentację wybranych strategii upamiętniania Stoczni Gdańskiej. Autorka analizuje i interpretuje: inicjatywy podejmowane przez Europejskie Centrum Solidarności, mural Stocznia Iwony Zając oraz wybrane działania organizacji Metropolitanka. W namyśle nad sposobami pamiętania i ich funkcjonowaniem w czasie, uwzględniono specyfikę Trójmiasta; prześledzono także losy stoczni: od zakładu pracy do symbolu: wolności, meandrów transformacji ustrojowej, współczesnej refleksji nad polityką pamięci. Wykorzystując koncepcję herstorii i Historii Ratowniczej oraz refleksje teoretyczne Izabeli Kowalczyk, Piotra Filipkowskiego, Marka Ziółkowskiego, a także spostrzeżenia Barbary Piórkowskiej i osób bezpośrednio zaangażowanych w przywoływane inicjatywy można zauważyć, że symbolika i znaczenie Stoczni Gdańskiej zmienia się, jednak temat ten, wciąż podejmowany i poddawany (re)interpretacji, nie został jeszcze wyczerpany.

The work presents selected strategies of commemoration of the Gdańsk shipyard. The author analyses and interprets: several initiatives undertaken by European Solidarity Centre, Iwona Zając's ''Shipyard'' mural, selected part of Metropolitanka's actions. While reflecting on certain ways of remembering and the modes they function within time, the distinctive features of Trójmiasto were considered; it is also outlined how the Gdańsk shipyard had functioned and is performing now – how its signifiance had being transformed from the workplace to the symbol of freedom, meanders of political transformation to sign of modern reflection on the Politics of Memory. Basing on the herstory concept, the Rescue History research and theories of Izabela Kowalczyk, Piotr Filipkowski, Marek Ziółkowski, and also following the thoughts of Barbara Piórkowska and people personally involved in referred initiatives, it might be noticed that the signifiance of The Gdańsk shipyard is constantly changing; being undertaken and (re)interpreted, the subject hasn't been depleted complitely.
