Symbolika chińskiego feniksa w kulturze i frazeologii Państwa Środka

Już od czasów starożytnych chiński feniks nazywany fenghuang (凤凰 fènghuáng) odgrywa bardzo istotną rolę w kulturze Państwa Środka. Równocześnie stanowi on jeden z najważniejszych symboli narodu chińskiego. Niniejsza praca dotyczy symboliki chińskiego feniksa w odniesieniu do różnych aspektów kultury chińskiej oraz języka. W pierwszym rozdziale niniejszej pracy przeanalizowano sposób w jaki fenghuang przejawia się w kulturze Państwa Środka oraz co w niej oznacza. Ponadto poddano analizie wybrane mity oraz atrybuty chińskiego feniksa. Dodatkowo nakreślono symbolikę oraz konotacje tego boskiego ptaka w kulturze Państwa Środka, ze szczególnym zwróceniem uwagi na kult feniksa oraz uznawanie go za totem. W drugim rozdziale pracy opisano oraz przeanalizowano chińskie frazeologizmy określane zbiorczym terminem shuyu. Dodatkowo omówiono wybrane frazeologizmy zawierające morfem reprezentujący feniksa dzieląc je na trzy kategorie, tj.: suyu/yanyu, xiehouyu, guanyongyu. W rozdziale trzecim pracy opisano specyfikę chengyu, tj. chińskich czteroznakowych idiomów oraz przeanalizowano 32 chengyu zawierające morfem oznaczający feniksa. Poddane analizie chengyu zostały podzielone na trzy kategorie ze względu na symbolikę fenghuanga: feniks jako symbol pomyślności, feniks jako symbol ponadprzeciętności i wyjątkowości, feniks jako metafora małżonków.

Since ancient times, the Chinese phoenix called fenghuang (凤凰 fènghuáng), has played a significant role in Chinese culture. It is also one of the most important symbols of the Chinese nation. This dissertation refers to the symbolism of the Chinese phoenix in relation to various aspects of Chinese culture and language. The first chapter of this work analyzes the significance of the phoenix as a symbol, and the way in which fenghuang manifests itself in Chinese culture. In addition, selected myths and attributes of the Chinese phoenix are examined. Moreover, the symbolism and connotations of this divine bird in Chinese culture are outlined, with special attention given to the cult of the phoenix and the recognition of it as a totem. The second chapter of this dissertation focuses on describing and analyzing Chinese phraseologies defined by the collective term shuyu. Additionally, selected phraseologies containing a morpheme representing fenghuang are discussed, the analysis of which has been divided into three categories, ie: suyu/yanyu, xiehouyu, guanyongyu. In the third chapter of this work the specificity of chengyu (Chinese four-character idioms) is described. It also includes the analysis of the 32 chengyu containing characters which represents Chinese phoenix. The analysis of chengyu has been divided into three categories due to the Chinese phoenix symbolism: the phoenix as a symbol of prosperity, the phoenix as a symbol of above-averageness and uniqueness, the phoenix as a metaphor for spouses.
