Development of shadow banking system in USA and its impact on financial stability

The aim of this thesis is to present origin and development of shadow banking system in the United States and its impact on financial stability during financial crisis 2007-2008. The work is an attempt to find answer to question what determinants and characteristics of development accompanied its prosperity. An attempt was made to identify the risks present in the shadow banking market and the mechanisms of their impact on the stability of the entire financial system. The work contain an analysis of mutual relations between the traditional banking sector and the unregulated financial intermediation market, and how these interdependencies generated systemic risk

Celem niniejszej pracy jest przeprowadzenie analizy procesu powstania oraz dynamicznego rozwoju systemu shadow banking w Stanach Zjednoczonych oraz jego wpływu na stabilność finansową w kontekście wybuchu kryzysu finansowego lat 2007-2008. W pracy poszukiwano odpowiedzi na pytanie jakie determinanty oraz cechy rozwoju towarzyszyły jego rozkwitowi Podjęto próbę zidentyfikowania ryzyk obecnych na rynku bankowości cienia oraz mechanizmy ich wpływu na stabilność całego systemu finansowego. Dokonano analizy wzajemnych powiazań pomiędzy tradycyjnym sektorem bankowym a nieregulowanym rynkiem pośrednictwa finansowego oraz jak wzajemne zależności generowały ryzyko systemowe.
