Artykuł ma na celu przestawienie w zarysie sylwetki artystycznej Elżbiety Wittlin Lipton, córki wybitnego polskiego pisarza emigracyjnego Józefa Wittlina, a także jej biografii, w którą mocno wpisuje się kontekst literacki. W szkicu wskazane zostały główne zakresy inspiracji twórczej Wittlin Lipton, w których mieszczą się między innymi sztuka hiszpańskiego baroku oraz dominujące trendy w hiszpańskiej modzie XX wieku, ze szczególnym uwzględnieniem projektów baskijskiego artysty Cristóbala Balenciagi.

The aim of the article is to outline the artistic profile of Elżbieta Wittlin Lipton, the daughter of an eminent Polish émigré writer Józef Wittlin, as well as to present significant historical facts that enrich her biography and her artistic oeuvre (here a special emphasis is laid on the literary context). The paper discusses in short main sources of Wittlin Lipton's artistic inspiration to which belong the Spanish baroque art and the dominant trends in the Spanish fashion of the 20th century created by a Basque fashion designer Cristobal Balenciaga.
