Komunikacja i transport na szlakach handlu lewantyńskiego w świetle statutów genueńskich w późnym średniowieczu

The aim of the present article is to try and present the main directions of change in the legislation of the Genoese Republic with regard to the logistic principles of trade along the routes of the Genoese merchant navy in the late Middle Ages. The author analyzes the successive stages in the transport of merchandise: loading, transport and unloading - on the basis of the sea transport legislation of the Genoese Republic from the fourteenth (Liber Gazariae) and fifteenth centuries (statutes of 1403 and 1441). The Genoese authorities conducted a policy of regulating the sea trade from above, which was a symptom of a premeditated transport policy. In the course of a century and a half of the legislative activity of Officium Gazariae, many of the provisions had remained unaltered - the fifteenth century statutes of 1403 and 1441 repeat many of the recommendations of the collection Liber Gazariae. In turn, the new principles which appeared for the first time in the statute of 1403, were to a large extent repeated in the regulations of 1441. Many solutions introduced in the statutes of 1403 and 1441, which were absent from the fourteenth century. Liber Gazariae, show a considerable degree of similarity with the principles of sea customs presented in the book of the Sea Consulate.
