The work presents the basics of the theory of communication with particular emphasis on media communication and the theory and classification of propaganda. The following section provides a general overview of the Russian media system along with a description of the most popular Russian TV channels. The broadcast of Russian state channels is analyzed on the basis of selected materials. The result of the analysis in the final part of the work is placed in the theory of propaganda.
