Flemish Portrait of a Courtier from the first quarter of the 16th century in the Czartoryski Museum in Kraków.

„Portret dworzanina” jest w posiadaniu muzeum ks. Czartoryskich w Krakowie. Atrybucja Jan Masteart. Obraz zakupiony został przez Izabelę Czartoryską-Działyńską ok. 1878 roku w Paryżu, stamtąd przewieziony był do Gołuchowa. W przededniu II wojny, cenniejsze dzieła wraz z portretem przewieziono do Warszawy w obawie przed zagrabieniem. Zabieg był skuteczny do r. 1944, kiedy po wywiezieniu do zamku Fischorn, portret zaginął. „Portret dworzanina” powrócił do właścicieli dopiero w 2004 r. Obecnie przebywa na stałej ekspozycji w sali poświęconej sztuce renesansowej. Obraz przedstawia popiersie młodego mężczyzny, zwróconego w 3/4 lewym profilem. Mężczyzna nosi elegancki i bogaty strój, na głowie czerwony beret z przyszytym enseigne z czytelnym napisem: „O.MATER.DEI.MEMENTO.MEI". Z ustaleń wynika, że portret przedstawia młodego Karola V Habsburga.

"Portrait of a Courtier" is in possession of the Princes Czartoryski Museum in Cracow. Attribution to Jan Masteart. The painting was purchased by Izabela Czartoryska-Dzialynska around 1878 in Paris, from where it was transported to Gołuchów. On the eve of the Second World War the more valuable works, together with the portrait, were transported to Warsaw in fear of being stolen. This procedure was effective until 1944 when the portrait was taken to the Fischorn Castle and disappeared. "Portrait of a courtier" returned to its owners only in 2004. It is now on permanent display in the hall dedicated to Renaissance art. The painting shows the bust of a young man facing 3/4 in left profile. The man is wearing an elegant and rich attire, on his head there is a red beret with a sewn-on enseigne with a legible inscription: "O.MATER.DEI.MEMENTO.MEI". The findings indicate that the portrait depicts a young Charles V of Habsburg.
