Participation of the senior community in cultural centres activity- case study

Lokalne instytucje kultury stymulują rozwój kapitału społecznego i społeczności lokalnej zebranej wokół instytucji oraz promują uczestnictwo w kulturze. Aktywna działalność instytucji kultury zwiększa nie tylko kreatywność i twórczość odbiorców, ale także kształtuje potencjał kulturowy i postawy obywatelskie, zachęca do angażowania się i współpracy. Praca podejmuje temat zarządzania partycypacyjnego w instytucjach kultury oraz nawiązywanie relacji instytucji ze społecznością lokalną, dokładnie z seniorami. Celem pracy jest poznanie oczekiwań seniorów wobec instytucji i motywacji do angażowania się w działalność Spółdzielczego Domu Kultury w Mielcu oraz zbadanie charakteru współpracy społeczności seniorskiej z instytucją.

Local institutions of culture can stimulate growth of social capital and comunnity gathered around the institutions and promote cultural participation. The active activity of cultural institutions not only enhances the creativity of the public, but also promotes cultural potential and civic attitudes, promotes comittment and cooperation. The article deals with topic of participative management in cultural institutions and the development of relationship between the institutions and the local community, especially with the elderly. The aim of article is to investigate the expectations of seniors for the institutions and motivation to participate in the culture centre, as well as the way the senior community cooperates with the institution.
