The role of the school counselor in the developmental support process

This paper is concerned with the perception of the profession of school counselor and the function he/she plays in school. Its tasks are divided into three main areas, including support of students, parents and teachers. The paper pays attention to the definition of the term school counselor, his qualifications that enable him to achieve his tasks and professional goals. The main part of the paper deals with the educator's support of students and collaboration with teachers and parents. The paper presents research from the literature that provides insight into the role of the school educator. The purpose of this thesis was to show how important the teaching profession is and to address the multifaceted support it provides.

Niniejsza praca dotyczy percepcji zawodu pedagoga szkolnego oraz funkcji jaką pełni on w szkole. Jego zadania zostały podzielone na trzy główne obszary, obejmujące wsparcie uczniów, rodziców oraz nauczycieli. W pracy zwrócono uwagę na definiowanie terminu pedagog szkolny, jego kwalifikacje, które umożliwiają mu realizację zadań i celów zawodowych. Główna część pracy dotyczy wsparcia uczniów przez pedagoga oraz współpracy z nauczycielami i rodzicami. W pracy zostały przedstawione badania z literatury przedmiotu, dające wgląd w rolę pedagoga szkolnego. Celem tej pracy było ukazanie jak istotny jest zawód pedagoga oraz odniesienie się do wielopłaszczyznowego wsparcia jakiego udziela.
