Dziedzictwo polskich Romów i perspektywy jego ochrony

As the title suggests, the dissertation describes the material and non-material heritage of the Roma People, as well as the problem of its preservation.The first chapter is devoted to history, including the most distant one. In order to understand the effect, there is a need to acknowledge the cause, which is why I refer to the oldest mentions of the Roma, dating back to centuries before our era and to scientific research helping to determine the origin of this interesting people. Undoubtedly, the present shape of the Roma culture was influenced by all the nations that Gypsies met in their path, hence below you can find a long description of the entire journey. The Roma holocaust is one issue that can not be ignored. Nowadays this historic event seems almost forgotten due to the tragedy of the Jews due to the overwhelming difference of numbers in comparison to all other genocides.The description of material heritage became an extremely difficult part of the work to write. It was necessary to choose aspects that really distinguished the Roma from the background of Polish society. Valuation in this case is an extremely complicated process, however I managed to achieve the measured goal by choosing only extremely interesting villas, palaces and costumes, which at that time were the main element emphasising the character of Romani culture.The longest chapter is devoted to the description and analysis of the intangible heritage. It is the largest area of what the old Roma generations left behind. Starting from the strict rules of Romanipen, through rituals and ending with special professions. I divided this part into two subchapters, because the possibility of wandering is dominant in the culture of the Gypsies, influencing every aspect of life. Therefore, it also seemed necessary to discuss the current state of heritage and a certain willingness to blend in with the surroundings, while maintaining one's own rules.The entire dissertation is based on available research by eminent historians, art historians and ethnographers focusing on the study of this particular culture. Thanks to their efforts, we can now explore the secrets of the Roma heritage.

Zgodnie z tytułem, praca opisuje dziedzictwo materiale i niematerialne Romów, a także problem jego zachowania. Pierwszy rozdział poświęcony jest historii, także tej najdalszej. Aby zrozumieć skutek, należy poznać przyczynę, dlatego też sięgam w nim do najdawniejszych wzmianek o Romach, pochodzących z wieków przed naszą erą i do badań naukowych pomagających określić pochodzenie tego jakże ciekawego ludu. Bez wątpienia wpływ na obecny kształt kultury miały wszystkie narody z którymi Cyganie się zetknęli, stąd poniżej znaleźć można długi opis całej wędrówki. Nie należy również pomijać kwestii holokaustu romskiego, który wydaje się być niemalże zapomniany, ze względu na tragedie Żydów, liczbami przytłaczającą wszystkie inne ludobójstwa. Niezwykle trudną do napisania częścią pracy stał się opis dziedzictwa materialnego. Należało bowiem wybrać te jego aspekty które faktycznie wyróżniały Romów na tle społeczeństwa Polskiego. Wartościowanie w takim wypadku jest niezwykle skomplikowanym procesem, jednak sądzę, że udało mi się osiągnąć zmierzony cel wybierając jedynie niezwykle ciekawe wille i pałace oraz stroje będące w tych czasach głównym elementem podkreślającym charakter cygańskiej kultury. Najdłuższy rozdział poświęciłem opisowi i analizie dziedzictwa niematerialnego. Jest to największy obszar tego co pozostawiły po sobie dawne romskie pokolenia. Poczynając od ścisłych zasad Romanipenu, poprzez obrzędy i na specjalnych profesjach kończąc. Część tę podzieliłem na dwa podrozdziały, gdyż możliwość wędrówki jest w kulturze Cyganów dominantą wpływającą na każdy aspekt życia. Dlatego też koniecznym wydało się również omówienie aktualnego stanu dziedzictwa i pewnej chęci wtopienia się w otoczenie, przy jednoczesnym zachowaniu własnych reguł.Cały tekst oparty został na dostępnych badaniach wybitnych historyków, historyków sztuki i etnografów skupiających się na badaniu tej właśnie kultury. Dzięki ich staraniom w tej chwili zgłębiać możemy tajniki dziedzictwa Romskiego.
