Infrastructural conditions in the differentiation of the sports participation among children and adolescents in Poland

Biorąc pod uwagę znaczenie przypisywane upowszechnianiu sportu wśród nieletnich, celem artykułu było ustalenie związku pomiędzy dostępnością do infrastruktury sportowej a poziomem zróżnicowania przestrzennego partycypacji sportowej wśród dzieci i młodzieży w Polsce. Opierając się na danych zastanych banku danych lokalnych Głównego Urzędu Statystycznego, przeprowadzono trzy analizy regresji. Ich wyniki wykazały, że na poziomie infrastrukturalnym, wzrost partycypacji sportowej dzieci i młodzieży w Polsce w największym stopniu jest wyjaśniany przez względną liczbę pływalni, a w mniejszym stopniu także przez liczbę kortów tenisowych i sal gimnastycznych.

Taking into account the importance attached to the promotion of sports among youth, the aim of the article was to establish the relationship between the availability of sports infrastructure and the level of spatial differentiation of sports participation among children and adolescents in Poland. Three regression analyses were performed on the basis of data from the local data bank of the Central Statistical Office. The results showed that at the infrastructural level, the increase in the sports participation of children and adolescents in Poland is explained to the greatest extent by the relative number of swimming pools and to a lesser extent by the number of tennis courts and gyms.
