The characters are juxtaposed with each other and compared in different depictions. It is an analysis of how their representation changes, what their commonalities are and how these affect the potential for emancipation. The work also describes and interprets the attempts made by different authors, entering the field of emancipation. All this in relation to theoretical texts that deal with the characters of Harley Quinn and Ophelia, refer to feminist theories and traditions of character representation.
