Profesor Ryszard Łużny (1927-1998) - Człowiek, Twórca, Mistrz

The text attempts to evoke the figure of Professor Ryszard Luzhny, based mainly on the autobiographical sketch left for posterity by this outstanding scholar. The aspects of biography, which Professor Luzhny tried to emphasise in the sketch in particular, included the formation of the future researcher in an ethnically diverse environment, in direct contact with Russian-Ukrainian culture; the pedagogical heritage in the family of the Professor and his wife; the ethos-based, committed model of practising humanities, implemented by the scholar and introduced to his students. In the context of a very coherent and consistently pursued own vision of research on Eastern Slavonic studies, the foundations of the Luzhny research school were outlined. The testimony to the values on which it was founded is the lasting memory of the Master, celebrated by his students and their successors as a cultural memory shaping the identity of contemporary Russian Studies in Poland.

W tekście podjęta została próba przypomnienia postaci Profesora Ryszarda Łużnego w oparciu głównie o pozostawiony potomnym szkic autobiograficzny tego wybitnego Uczonego. Wyakcentowane zostały aspekty biografii, które Profesor starał się w szkicu szczególnie podkreślać – ukształtowanie się przyszłego badacza w środowisku zróżnicowanym etnicznie, w bezpośrednim kontakcie z kulturą rusko-ukraińską; pedagogiczne dziedzictwo w rodzinie Profesora i jego małżonki; etosowy, zaangażowany model uprawiania humanistyki praktykowany przez uczonego i wdrażany uczniom. W kontekście bardzo spójnej i konsekwentnie realizowanej własnej wizji badań nad Słowiańszczyzną Wschodnią zarysowane zostały podstawy Łużniańskiej szkoły badawczej. Świadectwem wartości, na jakich została ona stworzona jest trwała pamięć o Mistrzu celebrowana przez uczniów i ich następców już w znacznym stopniu jako pamięć kulturowa kształtująca tożsamość współczesnej rusycystyki w Polsce.
