HOMO FABER OR HOMO LUDENS? NEW ATTITUDES TOWARDS WORK

The article is based on the field-works of so-called alternative communities, which are the groups of people who have decided to change the place of living from city to village due to their ecological ideology. There are many differences between the new-settlers and the peasants. One of them is the difference in the way of thinking about the work. The alternative way of thinking about the work takes its origin from 1960s, the period of the counterculture. The article presents the roots of the alternative style of work and the mechanism in which this style is being included in the contemporary euroatlantic cultural mainstream. The authoress underlines that the new style of work plays the crucial role in the social adaptation to the new situation on the labor market.
