DESUBSTANTIVE WORD-FORMATIVE OF THE VERBS WITH SUFFIX -i-IN THE OLD UKRAINIAN LANGUAGE OF THE XIV - XVIII-th CENTURIES

The word-formative of verbs with affix -I-, their classification by structural-semantic sub­types, semantic meaning and a motivational word belonging to them were analyzed. The semantic and formal properties of units of desubstantive suffixal word-formative verbs' of the old Ukrainian language of the XIV-XVIII-th centuries are revealed; the motivational base of attested verbal formations is determined: a comparative analysis of the old Ukrainian desubstantive verbal lexicon with the corresponding language phenomena of the previous and subsequent periods has been carried out, and along with the description of modern Ukrainian literary language, its dialects.
