THE ART OF MEMORY AND THE PSYCHODYNAMICS OF ORALITY. SOME NOTES ON TWO MODELS OF RECALLING (Sztuka pamieci a psychodynamika oralnosci. Kilka uwag o dwóch modelach zapamietywania)

This article deals basically with two most important models of cultural memory in Western culture. These are the psychodynamics of morality that is characteristic for the non-literate cultures, and the art of memory that exists within high literate cultures. The author tries to understand how the two models relate to each other in historical context of their evolution, especially in the ancient Roman rhetoric.
