Próby leczenia owsicy sokiem żurawiny błotnej (Oxycoccus quadripetalus Gilib.)

Children (55) from the Parasitologic Centre of the II Pediatric Clinic of the Medical School in Łódź were treated with the juice from fresh fruits of Oxycoccus quadripetalus Gilib.; the preparation (40-60 drops) was given before meals three times daily for 7 days, in a small amount of water or tea. The therapeutic course was repeated 3 times at weekly intervals. After the first therapeutic course a recovery was observed in 23 children out of 48, who were followed-up (48±10%); the second therapeutic course resulted in the recovery of 22 children (56±10%) and the third one in the disapearance of parasites in 18 children (78±10%). As cured were regarded the children in whom 3-fold examination at 10-15-day intervals according to Hall's, Rivas' and Faust's method failed to show the eggs of the parasite. An improvement in the general hea1th was found to follow the treatment.
